However, owing to her remarkable age, self-proclaimed at 112, the medical team opts for a cautious approach, refraining from the full spectrum of medications typically administered in such cases. He said
Activity is a problem for her because of her age and fragility. She has a reduced lung capacity and has difficulty breathing due to being severely asthmatic, so it is always concerning when she is hospitalized.

Who is Saalumarada Thimmakka?
Saalumarada Thimmakka is a renowned Indian environmentalist. She has been in the news because she was recently brought to the hospital due to exhaustion and shortness of breath.
She is also known as Aala Marada Thimmakka. She was born in Gubbi Taluk of the Kingdom of Mysore, now in the Tumakuru district of Karnataka, possibly around 1910 or 1911. She didn’t have any formal schooling, and she worked as a temporary laborer at a neighboring quarry.
Saalumarada Thimmakka was married to Chikkaiah, a resident of Hulikal village in the Ramanagara district of Karnataka’s Magadi taluk. The couple has no children. However, they do have one foster son named Umesh.
She is currently 112 years old.

Saalumarada Thimmakka, who is famous for her outstanding dedication to environmental protection, planted and cared for 385 banyan trees throughout a 45-kilometer span, in addition to almost 8,000 additional plants.
Despite having no formal education, her unrelenting commitment and her husband’s support helped her achieve fame on a national and worldwide scale. The Indian government honored her with the Padma Shri in 2019 and the National Citizen’s Award.
