Recently, Luana Alonso, has been making waves across social media platforms after the reports emerged indicating that the swimmer has been expelled from the Olympics Village.

However, denying these allegations and claims, the 20-year-old swimmer has came forward as she expressed that she wasn’t “expelled from anywhere,” while adding that “stop spreading false information.”

What Did Luana Alonso Say?

Taking the matter to her photo-sharing platform Instagram, Luana Alonso, revealed in her story that she was never removed or expelled from the Paris Olympics 2024. Furthermore, she urged people to stop spreading misinformation.

In her Instagram story, Alonso wrote, “I just want to clarify that I was never kicked out or expelled from anywhere. Please stop spreading false information. I don’t want to make any statements, but I’m not going to let lies affect me either.”

This post of the swimmer came a few hours after she claimed that Brazilian footballer, Neymar has sent her a private message on Instagram.

Did Neymar DM Luana Alonso?

Earlier, in an interview with a radio show, Luana Alonso, claimed that Neymar has sent her a DM on Instagram, while revealing that former Brazil captain is a big fan of hers.

In her statement, she claimed, “He sent me a DM. That’s all I can say. It was left in the request folder. I can’t discuss this here.”

Luana is currently single and unmarried.

About Luana Alonso

For the unfamiliar, Alonso, whose full name is Luana María Alonso Méndez, born in Asunción, Paraguay, is a retired Paraguayan swimmer.

She came to the spotlight after competing in the women’s 100-meter butterfly event at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. She holds multiple Paraguayan records in the butterfly discipline.

Standing at 170 cm (5 ft 7 in) and weighing 60 kg (132 lb), Alonso attended Southern Methodist University in Texas and Virginia Tech in Virginia for her university studies, where she competed in NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving for the SMU Mustangs and Virginia Tech Hokies.

During the Paris Olympics 2024, Alonso competed in the women’s 100m butterfly, finishing 6th in her heat, 29th overall, and failing to qualify for the semifinals.

Immediately after her race, she announced her retirement from competitive swimming. On August 5, it was reported that Alonso had been asked to leave the Olympic Village by Paraguay’s chef de mission for creating an “inappropriate atmosphere” around the team.
