2023 Ironman France Nice schedule, track details, & favorites to win
At the 2023 Ironman France Nice event, swimmers will begin their two-loop swim course spanning across 3.8 km at the Plage des Ponchettes, which is situated near the Quai des Etats-Unis. Meanwhile, the bike course will take the athletes through the picturesque villages of the Parc Naturel des PréAlpes d’Azur and the balcony road of Clues de Gréolières. Notably, the hilly one-loop bike course worth 180.2km distance will take in a positive elevation gain of 2,400m. Athletes return to the beach and run down the storied Promenade des Anglais during the four-loop, which will cover 42.2 km distance.
Clement Mignon, the favorite, will give the home audience enough to cheer about. Despite falling off his bike, he won the World Triathlon Long Distance Championships in Ibiza. Leon Chevalier, his countryman regrettably withdrew from the contest in Nice, making Belgian Bart Aernouts the most likely rival for Mignon’s top podium position. Though they have their sights set on the podium, the French trio of Arthur Horseau, Dylan Magnien, & Thomas Navarro will push the duo hard.
