IPL is considered to be one of the most valuable cricket leagues in the world. So, becoming a man of the match in an IPL final match is something every player dream of. Players like Yusuf Pathan, Anil Kumble, and Jasprit Bumrah have won the award and proved themselves as big-game players.

2008: Yusuf Pathan, (Rajasthan Royals)

Pathan showcased his all-rounder performance as RR beat CSK in the finals. Yusuf picked up three wickets and smashed 56 runs to win the man of the match award.

2009: Anil Kumble, (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

It is not often seen that a losing team player wins the man of the match award that too in T20s. RCB captain Kumble picked up four wickets by giving just 16 runs against Deccan Chargers. However, RCB failed to win the match and lost by 6 runs.

2010: Suresh Raina, (Chennai Super Kings)

Raina smashed 57 off 35 balls against Mumbai in the finals. He also picked up a wicket and received the man of the match award.

2011: Murali Vijay, (Chennai Super Kings)

Vijay scored 95 from 52 balls against RCB in the finals. RCB ended up losing the game by 47 runs as CSK won their consecutive second title.

2012: Manvinder Bisla, (Kolkata Knight Riders)

CSK appeared in their third consecutive final but was stopped by one man. Bisla scored 89 off 48 balls to successfully chase down 191 runs in the finals.

2013: Kieron Pollard, (Mumbai Indians)

Pollard smashed 60 runs in just 32 balls against CSK in the final. He also picked up a wicket and helped Mumbai to win their first IPL trophy. He was the first overseas player to win the award.

2014: Manish Pandey, (Kolkata Knight Riders)

KKR successfully chased down, 200 runs with the help of Pandey’s 94 runs in just 50 balls. He smashed 7 fours and 6 sixes in the final.

2015: Rohit Sharma, (Mumbai Indians)

MI captain Sharma scored 50 runs against CSK in the finals. CSK ended up losing the game by 41 runs as Rohit was awarded the man of the match.

2016: Ben Cutting, (Sun Risers Hyderabad)

Aussie all-rounder Cutting helped SRH win their first title as he picked up two wickets and smashed 39 runs in just 15 balls in the final against RCB.

2017: Krunal Pandya (Mumbai Indians)

The 2017 final was one of the low-scoring finals where Mumbai managed to score only 128 runs in 28 overs, thanks to Krunal’s 47 in 38 balls. MI ended up winning the title as they defeated RPS by 1 run.

2018: Shane Watson (Chennai Super Kings)

Watson scored smashing 117 runs in the finals against SRH. He became the third overseas player to win the award.

2019: Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians)

Bumrah conceded only 14 runs and picked up 2 wickets in his 4 over spell as MI successfully defended 149 runs against CSK.

2020: Trent Boult (Mumbai Indians)

Boult picked up three wickets against DC in the finals and helped Mumbai win their 5th IPL title.

2021: Faf du Plessis, (Chennai Super Kings)

Du Plessis scored 86 runs in just 59 balls in the finals against KKR. KKR failed to reach the total as he lost by 27 runs. Du Plessis is the first South African to win the man of the match award in an IPL final.
