Have a look at the IPL 2025 ticket refund rules policy
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stopped the Indian Premier League 2025 on May 9 because to rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
The BCCI is considering its next move in the wake of the suspension. The Indian Cricket Board, however, is concerned with making sure that officials, coaches, and players return safely.
Many of the international players and officials are expected to return to their home countries as early as Friday. Their travel plans would be made easier by the BCCI.

So far, 58 matches have been completed in IPL 2025, including the abandoned fixture in Dharamsala and twelve league matches remain, scheduled to be played across Lucknow (2), Hyderabad, Ahmedabad (3), Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru (2), Mumbai, and Jaipur. The playoffs are set to take place in Hyderabad and Kolkata.

If the tournament, cannot resume in a week, efforts will be made to reschedule the remainder of the tournament in another window later in the year, likely after India’s tour of England. While no official new schedule has been revealed yet, the IPL could resume during a 10 to 12 days window in September as the Asia Cup is now uncertain due to the rising armed hostilities between India and Pakistan.
According to an official announcement from Lucknow Super Giants, it has been confirmed that tickets purchased for the IPL 2025 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), scheduled for May 9 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, will be fully refunded.
Although LSG has yet to provide an update on the refund procedure, it can be understood that the refund process will be automatic for those who purchased tickets online through official platforms. Fans who bought physical tickets from box offices will be required to return their tickets at the point of purchase to claim their refunds.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have also announced a full refund for tickets purchased for their scheduled home match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday, May 10, following the one-week suspension of IPL 2025 due to rising military tensions between India and Pakistan.
Ticket refund details will be communicated shortly with it likely to be automatic for people who booked them online through the District app. Refunds for all the upcoming matches tickets are likely to be carried out in a similar manner. According to the IPL refunds rules, the amount will be refunded only if the match is cancelled or abandoned without a single ball being bowled which has what has happened in the wake of the current suspension.
The prolonged military confrontation and growing security concerns following the terror attacks in Pahalgam on April 22 were the reasons for the suspension. The BCCI and IPL officials came to the urgent conclusion that player, staff, and fan safety must come first. Since the BCCI will cooperate with the government and adhere to its directions during times of crisis, it is unlikely to declare a start date right away.
“Player’s spectators and support staffs’ safety is our priority we will do everything what is in best interest of nations. We are monitoring the situation and Will take call accordingly,” BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia told India Today after PBKS vs DC was suspended midway.

Already, worries about foreign players’ safety had been growing. Cricket Australia said in a statement on Friday that it is committed to closely monitoring the tense situation between India and Pakistan, as a number of international cricket players and coaches are participating in the competition.
On May 8, the situation worsened when air strike alarms forced the mid-game cancellation of the Punjab Kings vs. Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 match. The quick evacuation of spectators raised serious questions about the tournament’s viability.
Despite Arun Dhumal’s early assurances that the match between the Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 9 would proceed, the tournament was decided to be suspended indefinitely due to the increasing tension. Dhumal affirmed that the BCCI would adhere to official safety recommendations and is working with government organizations.
The escalation started on Wednesday evening when the Pakistani Army targeted 15 Indian cities with a series of drone and missile strikes. On Friday morning, India counterattacked, using kamikaze drones to take out a Pakistani air defence installation close to Lahore. Tensions increased as Indian air defence systems stopped additional threats in Jammu.
The BCCI has not yet given a precise timeframe on when IPL 2025 might resume.
