The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2023 is all geared up to kickoff from March 31, with defending champion Gujarat Titans facing off Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, know the schedule, start date, first match
The Board of Control for Cricket in India aka BCCI, announced the official schedule of the IPL 2023 on Friday evening, February 17, 2023.
The match is scheduled to take place at around 07:30 P.M. Indian Standard Time. For those who are unversed, let us tell you, all teams will be playing a total of 7 home and 7 away matches.
The tournament will be played across 12 venues such as Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati and Dharamsala.

If you’re unsure, let us make it clear, Mumbai Indians will open its campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match between the two teams will be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2 at around 07.30 P.M. Indian Standard Time.
From this season onwards Jio cinema app will stream IPL in 4K resolution which was never done before and Star Sports will broadcast only on television.
Each team will play 2 matches with teams of the other group and 1 match against the teams of their own group in the league stage match and for example: RCB (Group B) will face KKR (Group A) twice and CSK (Group B) once during the league stage.

For those who are curious, let us tell you, Mumbai Indians will be facing off their arch-rival Chennai Super Kings on April 8 and May 6.
There will be a total of 70 league matches this time including 18 double-headers. The last league stage game is scheduled for May 21. While the final game will be held in Ahmedabad on May 28.
Last season, all-round display of Hardik Pandya’ helped Gujarat Titans win the Indian Premier League in its first season with a 7-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in the final.
The captain of the Titans team, Pandya took 3 for 17 including the important scalp of Jos Buttler for 39 to restrict Rajasthan Royals to 130 for 9 and then hit 34 off 30 balls.

The news of the IPL came hours after BCCI Chairman, Chetan Sharma resigned from his post after he stirred up a controversy while commenting on the alleged dispute between Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly.
