According to their positions in the IPL 2023 points table, the top four teams, as is customary, will move on to the playoffs and play their individual matches.
There will be four games in the playoff rounds: Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the pivotal final game.

The top two groups will participate in Qualifier 1, giving them a second chance to win and go on to the finals.
They will compete against the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2. The teams that finished third and fourth will compete in the Eliminator.
It will be more challenging for teams to advance to the playoff rounds even if they finish with 16 points from 14 games in 2023’s IPL because there will be 10 teams competing.
The Net Run Rate (NRR) will therefore be crucial in identifying the top four teams in the competition.
As of April 22, there are still a lot of games left in the tournament, so no team has firmly locked up their spots in the playoffs.
With eight points, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, and Punjab Kings are all tied.
The Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore are tied for third place in the standings with six points each.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals each have four points, but Sunrisers Hyderabad only has two.
The IPL 2023 Points Table as of game 31 on April 22 is as follows:
