Indian Premier League: Most Valuable Player award history, format, & list of all-time winners
The Most Valuable Player ranking system was introduced by the Indian Premier League in 2013, and its winner would be honored at the conclusion of the campaign. Each 4-runs shot is worth 2.5 points in the points system, while 3.5 points are awarded for each six-hit or wicket taken. For every dot ball bowled, the player will get one point. Additionally, 2.5 points are awarded to the fielder/wicketkeeper for each successful catch/stump. Because of sponsorship, the award is now known as Upstox Most Valuable Player.
