Former Indian and Rajasthan Royals pacer S Sreesanth has finally made a comeback to the IPL, although as a commentator.
In a special presentation broadcast by Star networks to reveal the identities of the commentators, host Jatin Sapru revealed nine former cricket players.
Millions of spectators who will stick to their TV screens will hear these athletes explain the game.
Sapru, who travelled all the way to the UAE, first presented Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan. Irfan claimed that the audience would be in for a pleasant surprise because his older brother Yusuf has a sense of humour that not many people are aware of.
Irfan, Yusuf, and Jatin then introduced Murali Vijay as the third panellist. It’s interesting to note that Vijay didn’t take part in an IPL match till Chennai Super Kings (CSK)/in IPL 2022.
The next two commentators on the IPL 2023 commentary team are Aaron Finch and Paul Collingwood, who compete for the Ashes.
Finch has played for as many as nine IPL clubs, in contrast to Paul Collingwood, who represented the Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) in the 2010 IPL.
Jacques Kallis, a former star for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and a South African icon, will join Finch and Collingwood on the panel as the third international participant.
Former Indian cricketers Mohammad Kaif, Harbhajan Singh, and Sreesanth round out the list.
The first match of the 10-team IPL will feature Gujarat Titans (GT) vs. CSK. There will be a total of 70 group-stage games played till May 21.
