Here is how each side will play in 14 matches in IPL 2023, know the format and rules this season

The schedule for the entire 2023 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was released on Friday, and the 16th season of the franchise T20 competition will begin on March 31, just five days after the Women’s Premier League concludes (WPL).

Here is all you need to know about the format for this season’s IPL including 10 teams divided into two groups for 70 matches.

Gujarat Titans (GT), the 2022 winners, and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will square off in the opening game.

Throughout the course of 52 days, 70 games will be played. The first doubleheader of the season will also be played on April 1st.

In Mohali, at 3:30 PM on this day, the two-time champion squad Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS). Around 7:30 pm, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will square off in the second game.

May 6’s game between CSK and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Chepauk will be the IPL’s 1000th game.

There are now two groups made up of all ten teams.

Group A includes MI, RR, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Group B consists CSK, Punjab Kings, SRH, RCB and GT.

IPL 2023 format:

The teams from each group compete against each other once throughout the IPL 2023 season. The five clubs from the second group will play in two games.

Being the defending champions after defeating the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a score of seven wickets in the championship match, Gujarat Titans enter the next season.

The skipper of Gujarat got three wickets for 17 runs, including the crucial dismissal of Jos Buttler for 39, holding the Royals to 130 for 9, before going on to score 34 runs off of 30 pitches.
