Meta updated the layout of the Home Screen in May, making content display in a larger 9:16 ratio and taking up more space in your feed. A new ‘show all’ option appears on Stories, and the app’s algorithm now offers more suggested posts from users you don’t follow. Users despise the new layout modifications, but they haven’t had the same negative reaction to the new ‘pin to profile’ option, which has been a huge hit.

Instagram announced a revolutionary new feature called ‘pin to profile’ on Twitter on Tuesday (June 7th). “Do you think so?” You pinning it “You may now pin up to three posts or Reels to the top of your profile,” according to the app.
The new feature allows you to pin three of your favourite images, videos, or Reels to the top of your grid so they display first when someone views your profile.
Pinning posts has long been a popular TikTok feature, and Instagram has recently followed suit — but how do you use it? Find out in the next paragraphs.
How To Work With The New Tool
It’s simple to pin a post to the top of your profile. Simply follow the steps below.
- Find the post you want to pin to the top of your grid by scrolling through your feed.
- In the top right-hand corner, tap the three dots.
- ‘Pin to your profile should be selected.
- The post will now show at the top of your feed, along with a pin symbol.
- Simply hit the three dots again and select ‘unpin from your profile’ to unpin the post.
However, Creator profiles are the only ones that can use the functionality. So, if the feature isn’t functioning for you, you might want to try one of those instead.
To do this, go to Settings > Account Switch Account Type > Switch To Creator Account.
