On Thursday, the 2023 Indonesia Masters Open produced series of surprising results including the elimination of third-seed Loh Kean Yew at the hands of local favorite Dwi Wardoyo and defeat of fifth-seed Ginting against Shi Yuqi by score of 19-21, 16-21. Meanwhile, second-seed Lee Zii Jia said farewell to the tournament after succumbing to defeat against Ng Ka-long.
Among other matches of the day, fourth-seed Indonesian ace Jonatan Christie won in straight-set against compatriot Rhustavito by score of 21-16, 21-15 and qualified for the quarterfinal. On the contrary, Indian ace Lakshya Sen emerged victorious by score of 19-21, 21-8, 21-17 against Ng Tze Yong to advance towards the next round despite losing the first-set. Following today’s results all seeded players except fourth-seed Christie and seventh-seed Sen have been eliminated from the competition.
