It all started when accused Shahrukh Hussain burned Ankita Kumari alive after she rejected his advances. Ankita was asleep when Shahrukh doused her with gasoline via an open window, lit her ablaze, and she eventually passed away in the hospital.
While citizens all around the nation are horrified by the horrible act and are calling for Shahrukh to receive the worst penalty imaginable, the India Today organization appears to be more concerned with maintaining Shahrukh’s anonymity.
After being taken into detention by the police, Shahrukh was spotted brazenly grinning while showing no sign of regret. The news organization opted to call the accused Abhishek instead of Shahrukh when reporting on the occurrence. So, let’s find out more about where exactly India Today goes wrong:
India Today Changed Name Of Accused Shahrukh To Abhishek
On 29 August, India Today posted an article related to the above-mentioned case. The article is about how accused Abhishek could be seen smiling after getting arrested in viral photos. But, here’s the problem lies the culprit’s name is not Abhishek but Shahrukh Hussain.
This article attracts lots of traction on various social media platforms with many people debating whether it was intentional or unintentional. Lots of people accused India Today of intentionally doing this for hiding the religious identity of the culprit.
While on the other hand, many people said that it might be just a mistake.
What Is Dubious about It?
The weirdest thing is that the article used the name Abhishek several times in the article. And even after changing the name, they nowhere recognize that they had changed the name for whatever reason.
The media outlet ultimately chose to modify its story and publish the accused’s proper name after several online users pointed it out.
After amending the report, they gave no explanations or justifications which prompted further speculations from another side.
Let me tell you that Shahrukh has been arrested just after the case was filed. However, many people are accusing the police got alleged foul play in the case.
