2023 India Open women’s singles schedule, date, venue, fixtures, & first-round draw
Following her dominant performance to win the Malaysia Open, reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi will step to the court at India Open against unseeded Clara Azurmendi. Meanwhile, former world champion Carolina Marin will face-off against Japanese star Nozomi Okuhara to begin her campaign at this Super 750 event. In another match of Wednesday, Malvika Bansod will take on reigning champion Busanan Ongbamrungphan with high hopes placed on her by supportive local fans.
However, the opening day’s standout clash will pit fifth-seed Indian ace PV Sindhu against Katethong as the local favorite will aim to avenge her humiliating first-round defeat.
