2023 India Open doubles category latest results, day 2 schedule, date, venue, fixtures, & first-round draw
After barely missing the opportunity of a podium-finish in Malaysia Open, fifth-seed Indian pair Satwik & Chirag started India Open on high-note with a resounding straight-set win by score of 21-13, 21-15 against Scott pair Christopher & Matthew. Meanwhile, fellow Indian pair Garaga & Panjala held their nerves to qualify for the second-round after a hard-fought win through scores of 21-11, 23-25, 21-9.
Elsewhere in the mixed doubles, India’s sole competing duo of Ishaan & Tanisha crashed out after a humiliating straight-set loss by score of 11-21, 12-21. During another exciting match on Tuesday, Gayatri & Treesa emerged victorious after an intense contest that ended 22-20, 17-21, 21-18 in the favor of Indian duo. The India Open has been given the distinction of becoming a BWF World Tour 750 event for the first time in its history, and as a result, the prize fund for this contest has been significantly increased.

2023 Malaysia Open: BWF points award system
Following yet another first-round defeat for Ishaan Bhatnagar & Tanisha Cresto, India’s challenge in the mixed doubles category has already ended from the opening day of India Open. Contrary to men’s doubles category where both Indian pairs won their respective matches, women’s doubles saw first-round exit for numerous Indian pairs including Ashna & Haritha.

2023 India Open: prize money distribution
Each doubles category winner will be entitled to receive prize money worth $62,900 after the India Open is promoted to BWF Super 750 level, as opposed to the runner-up’s $29,750 award. Prizes for this competition will total $850,000, with $850 being guaranteed for each competitor. Ishaan Bhatnagar & Tanisha Cresto will get a combined $850 in prize money as a result of their early removal from the tournament.
