Ime Udoka is a well-known Nigerian-American professional basketball coach of the Boston Celtics and former player.
His full name is Ime Sunday Udoka. On August 9, 1977, he was born in Portland, Oregon. His mother is American while his father is Nigerian. He also has one sister Mfon, who played in the WNBA.
He attended Jefferson High School in Portland. He holds both American and Nigerian nationality.

Udoka began his professional basketball career by competing for the Charleston Lowgators in the NBDL. He spent some time in Europe before returning to the United States and was drafted in the NBDL. In the 2005 NBDL Draft, Fort Worth Flyers selected him third overall this time.
