The last time the U.S came close to winning the title was back in 2015 when they finished second behind Chinese Taipei.
ICU World Cheerleading Championships 2023 preview
Team USA has previously won the title consecutively in 2022, 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016. With the event being postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the upcoming competition will be USA’s sixth consecutive win if they manage to clinch the title again.
Germany and Finland, who are last year’s silver and bronze medallists in co-ed premier will be strong title contenders. Meanwhile, in the All Girl Premier category, Finland will also be looking for a fifth-straight win. Finland held off the USA and Germany for the title just a year ago.
