Kendrick Lamar comeback album “Mr Morale & the Big Steppers” (which LeBron James praised) had a diss directed at Kyrie Irving
K-Dot recently released his highly anticipated “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” album, and on one of the new tracks, he brought up Kyrie Irving and his COVID drama with some wicked verses.
Kyrie Irving Answers Kendrick Lamar ‘Questioning’ Him About COVID In His Latest Track And His Diss
The song, “Savior,” is just under 4 minutes long and features Baby Keem and Sam Dew. It begins with the California native mocking the Nets superstar and his vaccination stance.
The MC’s wording is clever… but the main takeaway is his mention of Kyrie, who missed a considerable amount of Nets games after refusing to receive the jab.
Irving was chastised all season by NBA fans, the media, and celebrities, most notably comedians Chris Rock and Howard Stern, for refusing to get vaccinated, but he never did.
Kyrie Irving is well-versed in vaccines.
This week, Kendrick Lamar released his new album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. People were wanting to listen to it, so Apple Music and Spotify collapsed. One thing is certain: Kendrick mentioned Kyrie Irving in a verse about Covid during the song “Savior.”
Around 1:30 into the song, you can hear him say Kyrie.
Of course, Kyrie chimed in on the lyric drop. Kyrie was back on his Twitch feed, doing his thing while playing Grand Theft Auto.
Kyrie certainly does not consider this a dig. “Can we just enjoy the art?” He kept laughing as he told about how fantastic it was. Kyrie is from another world.
Kendrick’s phrase does not appear to be a shot at the 30-year-old. And it appears Irving, who was spotted on Instagram Live on Thursday banging Kendrick Lamar’s new album, isn’t having it. During a recent Twitch live, the point guard remarked on the song, stating, “I’m not upset. I’m not apathetic. I’m just thankful.
There’s been a lot of anticipation about Kendrick’s project for a while now, and if the production on “Savior” is any indication of what the album will be like, fans are in for a treat.
