2022 Hylo Open Badminton Women’s Singles Results Today, Score, Winners, & Semi-Final Draw
On Friday, Indian women’s singles representative Malvika Bansod crashed out from quarterfinal of 2022 Hylo Open after suffering straight-set loss against her Indonesian opponent Gregoria Mariska Tunjung by score of 17-21, 10-21. This win has allowed Tunjung to qualify for semi-final stage, where she will face in-form Chinese shuttler Han Yue. In her own quarterfinal tie, Han Yue emerged victorious in straight-sets by score of 21-17, 21-12 against Dane shuttler Line Kjærsfeldt.
Despite being labelled as tournament favorite by bookmakers, former world champion Carolina Marin crashed out from quarterfinal after losing against Zhang Yiman. Zhang overcame her first-set loss to ultimately win 19-21, 21-19, 21-19 after an intense match that lasted 68 minutes. Following her victory, Zhang has qualified for semi-final stage, where she will face third-seeded Japanese star Nozomi Okuhara. At this ongoing tournament, Okuhara is the only remaining seeded player after she overcame first-set loss to win against Taiwanese Hsu Wen-chi by score of 19-21, 21-17, 21-15.
