Since no men’s matches took place today, Viktor AXELSEN, Lakshya SEN, Kunlavut VITIDSARN and LEE Zii Jia will play the semi finals matches. This happened because Kento MOMOTA and Rasmus GEMKE retired from the tournament owing to their respective injuries.

Lakshya, who won five titles in 2019 before COVID-19 banned the international circuit, has been on a roll, finishing in the final of the Dubai Open and reaching the semifinals of the Denmark Masters and the Hylo Open.

After falling twice to top seed and two-time world champion Kento Momota of Japan in the Indonesia leg, Lakshya was unable to advance far in the draw. This is the one of the few times he will get in his life when he can prove he belongs in the big-boys league. By making it into the BWF World Tour Final 2021, he has proved that he is one of the best in the country, it is just a matter of time when he will be able to prove this on the world stage.
