For those who are unversed, let us tell you, lawmakers in the United States are trying to ban the video app and a number of people are signing the petition to stop the ban.
Meanwhile, the CEO of the video-sharing app Shou Zi Chew who was in Washington this week has testify in the US House Energy and Commerce Committee.
While addressing in the House Energy, he stood before Congress on Thursday, March 23 as he tried to convince politicians the app is safe for the US’s 150 million users.

In an attempt to try and stop it from being banned a number of petitions has been made on the Change.org, which are gaining thousands of signatures.
The biggest petition signed on the platform is being called “Stop the TikTok ban.” So far, it has received more than 56,000 signatures.

The creator of the petition, Anthony Youn, in a statement said that “100 million Americans use the social media app TikTok to be entertained, informed, and inspired.”
He further added, “Yet, the United States government is threatening to ban TikTok outright in a bipartisan overreach that ignores our freedom of speech.”
He continued describing it as an “overreach like nothing we have seen before,” as he said it’s a Platform and everyone should use their free speech as United States is a free nation.
If you’re unsure, let us make it clear, the petition wants the video-sharing platform to work with the US government to solve their concern “without taking away an app that provides so much enjoyment, education, and community.”
An another widely popular petition on the platform is called ‘Save TikTok.’ So far, it has received over 29,000 signatures.
The description of the petition reads “There is talk in the United States of banning the social media platform TikTok because of tensions between the United States and China as well as potential security risks.”
“We cannot ban this app, not because it is impossible, but because there are many people that depend on it financially.”
