2022 Hong Kong Masters Semi-final Results, Score, Winners, & Ronnie O’Sullivan vs Marco Fu Final Schedule
At the Hong Kong Masters, legendary Hong Kong snooker player Marco Fu defeated John Higgins 6-5 with a remarkable maximum break in the decisive frame. After overcoming Neil Robertson 6-4 in the other semi-final, world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan secured a Sunday matchup with local favorite Marco Fu in the Hong Kong Masters final.
O’Sullivan opened this afternoon’s play with a frame-winning run of 72, but Robertson quickly scored three straight century breaks of 105, 100, and 135 to go up 4-1. The tide began to shift in favor of seven-time world champion O’Sullivan, who trimmed the deficit to just one frame with a break of 93 before taking the seventh frame on the pink.
Robertson missed a red to the top left in the eighth frame, which gave O’Sullivan the opportunity to score a century run of 105. The 38-time ranking event champion, who hit 104 to lead 5-4 in the ninth, punished a rejected pink to the center once more. Robertson of Australia once more led in the tenth frame, but O’Sullivan’s match-winning clearance of 52 secured his spot in the championship game.
On Sunday’s final clash, Ronnie will play local-hero Marco Fu in front of a sold-out arena that is bound to be vocal about it’s support of Fu. The tournament tickets can be purchased by fans from here.
