Peter Bonnington got on the team radio with Lewis Hamilton to inform him Max Verstappen has been whining about his power steering during the Bahrain Grand Prix 2022

Having triumphed last season to lift his maiden drivers’ championship, Max Verstappen made a foray into the 2022 season as one of the outright favorites to win this edition as well. While Lewis Hamilton was always going to put up a stern challenge, the Brit clearly had issues with his car ahead of the 2022 season, ones the Dutch was envisaged to capitalise on.

And he looked set to ease his way to a top 3 finish at the least before Verstappen’s race came to a sorry end in the tailend of the Bahrain GP 2022. Both the Red Bulls failed to finish the season opener to allow Hamilton to take an unlikely third place and with it take an early but vital lead over Hamilton.

And a jubilant Mercedes was quick to mock Red Bull with Toto Wolff talking about how the team’s car was the benchmark this term but ended up with 0 points. However, a moment from the race has now gone viral, one where Mercedes’ Peter Bonnington gets on the team radio with Hamilton to inform him how Verstappen has been persistently wallowing about his power steering.
