Max which was earlier recognized as HBO Max, is currently only available in select regions. The service is available in the US presently, including the regions like American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. So if you face an issue or it appears not available then you are not among the listed regions.
However, users in the US can experience a similar issue while they are trying to log into the streaming app, but due to some different reasons, such as a blocked IP address.
Since Tuesday, numerous US-based subscribers have taken to Twitter to find out that they are the only ones facing issues with their subscriptions.
But, it can be fixed by following some simple steps.
How to fix the error message
- Ensure your VPN or proxy has been disabled so your IP address has not been blocked.
- A straightforward fix would be to unplug the device, which you can use the Max app from power. Wait for 30 seconds before it restarts
- Contact your Internet provider if the app would not stream or isn’t working in your region despite disabling the proxy and VPN.
- You can also directly contact the Max team if none of above works with details regarding Your Internet Service Provider and your IP address.
Will the name change the subscription fee?
No HBO Max users will be on the same plan and won’t be charged extra to shift on Max.
