Recap of Chapter 1420 for Hajime no Ippo
Earlier in Hajime no Ippo, Kumi was perplexed as to why their romantic relationship had stalled. She thinks back to a chat she had with a friend who advised her that Kumi should work harder to let Ippo know how she feels and what she intends. They went on an overnight vacation and got intoxicated, but Kumi tells her buddy that nothing actually occurred, she is beginning to wonder, and Ippo does not find her at all appealing.
Kumi’s friend advises her to persevere and her efforts will bear fruit. Ippo, on the other hand, travels to Kumi’s flat because he wants to cook fish with her there. He discovers that her brother isn’t at home after arriving at her home. Ippo is asked whether he wants to see the fireworks in Kumi, who then turns out the light to make them easier to view. Ippo notices a figure in front of the home as Kumi and he leans in for a kiss.
Ippo’s face is close to Kumi, but Kumi notices that Ippo was actually looking out the window. Kumi enquires as to the issue and informs him that nobody is present. When Ippo notices someone else once more, Kumi and he lean in for another kiss. They finally turn on the lights in the room after a few unsuccessful attempts. Masushiba, Kumi’s brother, is seated at the table and silently observing them, and they are both utterly astonished to see him.
