This brand is founded by an IITian Jitendra Sharma. “Hair Originals” has expanded and now operates pan-India after it received funding in a business reality series, ‘Shark Tank India’. This hair extension and wigs platform was launched in 2019 as a b2b platform, but it now operates directly with the consumer platform which enable it to find the right product cutting the middleman with the extra expenses.

This platform for wigs and hair extensions managed to gain Rs.60L at the show from 3 Sharks – The MD and Co-Founder of BharatPe- Ashneer Grover, Founder & CEO of People Group – Anupam Mittal and Peyush Bansal, the Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com. All 5 sharks showed their interest in investing in the brand at the show. After the fundraiser post the show, funding discussions are still going on personal capacity from the sharks and other investors.
Ashish Tiwari, Jitendra Sharma, Piyush Wadhwani, the three founders had asked for Rs.60 lakh for 2% putting the company’s valuation at Rs.30 crores.
According to a source, the funding will be also brought into action for an AI integration that will be able to support AR/VR capabilities and can provide a real-time trial experience. IITian Jitendra Sharma’s Hair Originals has already closed a pre-seed round and is currently in the process of closing another Pre-Series A round for their accelerated growth and presence in the market.

This homegrown brand of India exports to more than 22 countries, including the top luxury salons of the US, Europe, and Africa. In India, with their newly launched D2C platform it will break open the market by delivering 100% Natural Hair Extension made from virgin Indian Remy, which is scalp sourced hair at affordable prices, adding to that free salon installation through their partner salons all across India.
The Gurugram based Hair Originals is eyeing a target of 100 Cr ARR in the next 2 to 2.5 years with a loyal consumer base both all across India and globally.
