In late 2019, Kinjal won Gauravshali Gujarati Award at the 12th Gauravvanta Gujarati Awards. In 2020 Kinjal won the Feelings Pride of India Award in the music category.
Kinjal Dave debuted in the music industry with her Gujarati song “Jonadiyo”. Kinjal rose to name and fame with “Chaar Chaar Bangadiwali Gadi” which was released in 2016. She, her publisher RDC Media and studio Saraswati Studio were sued by Red Ribbon Entertainment and Kartik Patel, who is also known as Kathiyawadi King, a Gujarati singer hailing from Australia, for copyright infringement.
Patel then further claimed that the song is a copy of his original song with some minor changes in it. His song was uploaded on YouTube, 3 months prior to the release of Dave’s song. Dave has claimed that the original song was written by Manubhai Rabari in 2014.
In January 2019, Ahmedabad Commercial Court restrained Dave from using the song until the case has been resolved. Gujarat High Court removed all these restraints a month later. In April of 2019, Ahmedabad Commercial Court dismissed the case citing jurisdiction issue.
The fresh copyright infringement notice was issued by Ahmedabad Civil Court in September 2019. Dave’s publisher RDC Media and Saraswati Studio accepted copyright infringement and further agreed on removing the song from platforms, leaving Dave to defend the case alone.
Her other famous Gujarati songs are “Chaar Chaar Bangdi Vali Gadi”, and “Makhan Chor” among others. She made her debut with a Gujarati film Dada Ho Dikri in 2018, In 2019, Dave became a member of the BJP.
