Sony has officially announced the Gran Turismo film with the first details, know the 2023 movie release date and cast
And it appears that it will be released sooner than we anticipated.
Sony recently announced a plan to make movies and TV episodes based on its most popular PlayStation titles.
Uncharted was the first project under this concept, and it was released earlier next year to mixed reviews from critics but a strong box office take.
The Last of Us will be adapted into a TV drama by HBO next year. The programme is currently under post-production, and a trailer will most likely be released in the coming months. Netflix has already revealed that it will adapt the Horizon series, and Amazon is developing a God of War programme.
Gran Turismo Sony Movie 2023 Gets Release Date, Story Ahead Of Cast Reveal
When is Gran Turismo Movie Going To Release?
All of these are reasonable adaptations, but one, in particular, caught the attention of admirers.
Neill Blomkamp, the filmmaker of District 9, is set to direct a Gran Turismo film, according to reports. However, many people were curious as to how a racing game with no story could be turned into a feature picture.
Well, Sony has announced that Neill Blomkamp’s Gran Turismo would be based on a fascinating true story via an updated movie schedule. The film will feature a teenage Gran Turismo devotee who used a series of Nissan competitions to put his gaming abilities into practice.
As a result, he went on to become a professional racing car driver.
With a 2023 release date, we may expect to hear more about the film’s casting as it moves further in production. Sony has yet to reveal who will star in the film.
But they’ll probably be looking for an all-star ensemble to lead it. Jason Hall, the screenwriter for American Sniper and the writer/director of Thank You for Your Service, is writing the script.
The story seems similar to that of Jann Mardenborough, a 30-year-old driver who’s had a legendary career thus far.
Gran Turismo will be released on August 11th, 2023, according to Sony.
