The barely there Versace dress worn by Jennifer Lopez at the 2000 edition of the Grammy turned out to be the picture which sparked the birth of Google Images

Over the years, Jennifer Lopez has gone onto make her name as one of the most iconic singers in the world. However, it was more than just the world of entertainment which she impacted with the noteworthy singer also the reason behind Google deciding to come up with Google Images.

Lopez had set the world alight back in 2000 which she had decided to turn up to the Grammy awards in her now notable green leaf print dress by Versace. The scanty dress took the internet by aplomb with Google laden to the brim with searches of “Okay Google show me the Versace jungle dress’ or “Lopez green dress” shortly afterwards.

Owing to the mammoth searches for the picture, Google decided it was time to come up with another feature to help users seamlessly scour through the internet to traverse for images. Cathy Edward who was Google Images’ product and engineering director hired Huican Zhu with him and Susan Wojcikci working in unison to craft Google Images which was subsequently launched in July 2001.
