Andreas Brehme was married to Pilar Martinez and they are the parents of two sons named Alessio and Ricardo Brehme. However, things didn’t go well between them, and they both got separated. Soon, he went into a relationship with Susanne Schaefer, his second wife.

He died on 20 February 2024 in Munich, Germany. At the time of his death, he was 63 years old.

Andreas Brehme began his career with HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst and had a notable career at clubs like 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan. Achieving Bundesliga and Serie A titles, he concluded his playing career with 301 matches.

Brehme represented West Germany with 86 caps internationally, excelling in FIFA World Cups and Euro events. His finest moments include qualifying for the semifinals of Euro 88, winning Euro 84, and winning the 1990 World Cup with a game-winning penalty.
