The Champions Chess Tour 2022, often referred to as the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, is a nine-month run of nine online chess tournaments featuring some of the top players in the world vying for a US$1.6 million prize fund. From February 19 to November 20, 2022, the tour will take place. FTX Crypto Cup, the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour’s second major event, will serve as the sixth leg of the $1.6 million tour. The competition, which will run from August 15 to August 21 and will feature eight elite chess players from around the world.

Players will compete in one four-game tie every day for seven days. The winner is determined by who earns the most points — and money — overall. The second Major of the year will be held from August 15 to August 21 and will be the sixth of nine Tour elite-level competitions. Meltwater Champions Chess Tour Leg 6 Prize Money Pool Distribution

Magnus Carlsen, the current world champion, and Alireza Firouzja, a brand-new opponent, head a great field for the FTX Crypto Cup, which begins the next week.
