‘From Scratch’ is a mini-series that is going to hit our screens very soon in the new release list of Netflix.
The series is a limited version created by Attica and Tembi Locke. The romantic drama is based on Tembi Locke’s memoir titled ‘From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home’.
The duo, Attica and Tembi also serve as the executive producers of the film along with Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Zoe Saldana, Richard Abate, Jermaine Johnson, and Will Rowbotham.
Release Date of ‘From Scratch’
The romantic series ‘From Scratch’ is all set to premiere on upcoming Friday, October 21, 2022.
For those who are unversed, let us tell, you can binge the 8 episode limited series via streaming giant Netflix after it premiered on the platform.
Star Cast of ‘From Scratch’?
The romantic drama was announced back on November 7, 2019. At the time it was reported that Zoe Saldana will be seen playing the role of Amy, the lead character.
In April 2021, it was revealed that Eugenio Mastrandrea would be playing Lino, Saldana’s love interest.
The other cast of the drama includes:
Danielle Deadwyler,
Keith David,
Kellita Smith,
Judith Scott,
Lucia Sardo,
Paride Benassai, and
Roberta Rigano.
A month later, several other names were added to the cast members. These are as:
Terrell Carter,
Medalion Rahimi,
Jonathan Del Arco,
Peter Mendoza,
Lorenzo Pozzan, and
Jonathan D King.
In July 2021, a few other names were added to the cast list as a guest members. The mini-series will be seeing some of the guest cast members such as:
Giacomo Gianniotti,
Elizabeth Anweis,
Kassandra Clementi, and
Rodney Gardiner.
Meanwhile, Saad Siddiqui also joined the cast as a recurring cast member.
Plot of the mini-series ‘From Scratch’
The official synopsis of the series reads, “Amahle “Amy” Wheeler, an American student studying in Italy, meets and falls in love with Lino, a Sicilian chef.
“When Lino faces health issues and the couple’s future is threatened, the two families come together.”
Recently, Zoe Saldana took to social media and uploaded a poster of the series while captioning it as, “Meet Amy and Lino A love story for the ages. Inspired by the New York Times. Best-Selling Memoir. From Scratch is coming October 21, only on @Netflix.”
The official Instagram page of the series posted the official teaser on their page meanwhile captioning it as, “A beautiful love, loss and Italian food story, #fromscratch launches October 21st ,only on @netflix #fromscratch #fromscratchnetflix #netflix #netflixseries.”
