As the 2022 Formula E season draws closer, we take a closer look at the list of drivers and participating teams
Formula E is the top tier competition of electric open-wheel racing and the 2022 season is set to feature sixteen rounds of race to determine the new winner. Nyck de Vries will begin the new season season as the defending Formula E champion and represent Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team. This season will be the last season of Formula E Gen2 era since Gen3 era is set to begin from 2022-23 season.

FE 2022 Season Teams Changes
Audi Sport decided to leave Formula E after 2020-21 season but for the 2022 season, they agreed to become powertrain supplier for Envision Racing. BMW also left Formula E and became powertrain supplier for Andretti Autosport.
As per earlier communication, 2021-22 season would be the last Formula E season for Mercedes-Benz. Envision Virgin Racing is rebranded as Envision Racing for the 2021-22 Formula E season. Jaguar Racing was rebranded as Jaguar TCS Racing for 2021-22 season after TCS became their latest sponsor.
Formula E 2022 New Season Drivers Changes
Oliver Rowland switched teams for this season and joined Mahindra Racing after leaving Nissan e.dams. While former formula one driver Antonio Giovinazzi switched to Formula E with Dragon/Penske Autosport. Former formula 2 racer Dan Ticktum switched to formula E. Dan will team up with Oliver Turvey and represent NIO 333 Team.
Former IndyCar driver Oliver Askew will compete in Formula E with Andretti Autosport.
