Florentin Pogba’s Move to ISL, New Club, And Playing Career
Florentin Pogba has been transferred from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard of Ligue 2 to ATK Mohun Bagan, the French club confirmed late on Friday. For the country of Guniea in West Africa, Florentin has played 30 times since 2010.
Florentin played for Ligue 1 team St. Etienne for six years before to joining Sochaux, spending one season on loan at Sedan in Ligue 2. He started his professional career in 2010 with Sedan. After leaving a Turkish Super Lig loss to Antalyaspor in 2018, he joined the Turkish team Gençlerbirligi S.K., where he got into an altercation with his own teammates.
The following year, he played for MLS team Atlanta United. The first two significant trophies of his professional career, the US Open Cup and Campeones Cup were won with Atlanta. He later returned to France, where he played for Sochaux for two seasons, appearing in 62 games. His contract with them still had a year to run.
While Florentin’s old club FC Sochaux tweeted a farewell message on Twitter while revealing that he has been transferred to the ISL team, ATKMB has not yet made the signing public.
He began his career with CS Sedan in the French second tier, first playing for their junior team before making 85 appearances for the senior squad. He then joined AS Saint-Etienne in the Ligue 1 in 2012 for a transfer fee of €500K and spent five seasons at the club, making over 90 appearances for them before signing for Gencerbirligi Ankara in Turkey.

Pogba was born in Guinea’s capital city of Conakry. When he was eight months old, his family relocated to Roissy-en-Brie, France. Pogba has two brothers who play football professionally. His younger brother Paul plays for Manchester United and the French national team, while his twin brother Mathias for ASM Belfort. He grew up rooting for Arsenal and watching them during their undefeated season.
The defender’s salary in ISL will be Rs.2.5 crore per year.
