2022 Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup Spain vs Canada Result, Score, Winner, Upcoming Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, And Fixtures

Each of the four pools contains four teams, and each team will play each other team in the pool once. The group’s top team advances directly to the quarterfinals after all games are completed. The second and third-place teams in each group, however, will advance to the round of 16. The Indian women’s hockey team will play England on July 3 to open play in the FIH Women’s World Cup. On July 5, they will play China. On July 7, they will play New Zealand in their final pool-stage game.

After 28 years, Canada’s women’s field hockey team returned to the World Cup on Friday in Terrassa, Spain, but they were defeated 4-1 by co-host Spain. On a 57th-minute penalty corner, experienced North Vancouver, British Columbia, defender Karli Johansen, who has more than 150 caps, scored for Canada.

Spain, which is ranked seventh in the world as opposed to No. 15 for Canada, scored goals in the fifth minute, the 21st, the 26th, the 29th, and the 29th. After Belen Iglesias had given Spain a fourth-minute lead, Xantal Gine, Maria Lopez, and Begona Garcia each scored goals to seal the outcome. Karli Johansen gave Canada a goal after a scoreless third period, but that was the length of their comeback.

Before hosting the initial Pool D match between Australia and Japan, the Estadi Olimpic will host a matchup between the other two Pool C teams, Tokyo 2020 silver medalists Argentina and South Korea. Three matches will be held in the Dutch venue, the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, beginning with the Pool B encounter between China and New Zealand.
