By clinching a place in the highly sought FIFAe Nations Cup (FeNC) 2022, India made history, know all the qualified teams list and schedule

From July 26 to 30, representatives from the country will compete at the top level of FIFA 22 Esports in Copenhagen, Denmark, alongside esports athletes from 23 other countries.

The FeNC is among three major esports events staged on a global scale to recognise the game’s global champions, and it is organised and run by EA Sports. Teams representing their countries will compete in a 2v2 style against rivals from all across the world in this competition.

In June 2022, the tournament’s Playoffs 2022 began. India will compete in a double-elimination bracket against six top-tier Asian and Oceanian teams for a spot in the prestigious Nations Cup 2022.

The three athletes who’ll be representing India in the grandest level of FIFA Esports in Copenhagen for the Nations Cup 2022 are Charanjit Singh, Siddh Chandarana, and Saransh Jain. These athletes not only represent their country on a global platform, but they are also among the country’s best players.

India is one of the 24 teams that have qualified for the FIFAe Nations Cup in 2022.

Out of 60 countries, India is presently placed 23rd. India advanced to the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers 2022 Play-in stage after beginning their campaign in the tournament’s qualifying stages.

India played 32 games in the play-ins between last December and this May. Winning 12 games, losing 11 games, and drawing 9 games throughout four-game weeks. As a result, India was ranked second in the Consistency Ranking at the end of the play-ins stage. Throughout the play-ins, they also maintained their Division 1 status.

India competed in the tourney’s playoffs alongside seven other Asian and Oceanian countries. In comparison to the earlier stages, the playoffs will be held in a double-elimination format. This permits each team to lose up to two games before being eliminated from the competition.

In the winner’s bracket, India’s playoff campaign began with a clash against the Korean Republic. India defeated Korea in their first encounter. Winning 3-1 in the first leg and obtaining a 1-2 result in the second leg.

However, India’s luck ran out in their second match, when they were defeated by Japan after a 0-0 and 0-1 draw.

India was paired against Malaysia in the lower stages of the playoffs after securing a position in the lower groups. India thrillingly triumphed over Malaysia, following a 1-1 tie with a 5-0 victory to win the match on aggregate.
