After the team’s 1-0 victory over Iran, the prize money for the men’s World Cup had increased to nearly $380,000 for each member of the group.

A pool of 90% of the World Cup prize money allocated by the world soccer governing body FIFA to the USSF will be split evenly among the players on the rosters for the men’s World Cup that ended recently and the women’s World Cup this year.

Also, FIFA’s pay for the 2026 and 2027 World Cups for men and women was combined at the unions’ request.

Unlike the women’s World Cup, where a squad size of 23 is now mandated by FIFA rules, last year’s men’s rosters were increased to 26 players.

If the number of women’s rosters was expanded to 26, the prize money component for each participant would total $380,769 instead.
