The DY Patil Stadium is a multi-sport facility, which is located in Nerul in Navi Mumbai, and has till date hosted only one international match back in 2008.

The DY Patil Stadium will host the WPL 2023 opener match between Gujarat Giants and the Mumbai Indians on March 4, 2023.

The stadium will host 11 matches of the 22 WPL 2023 matches, which also includes the eliminator.

DY Patil Stadium Mumbai

The Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy operates the DY Patil stadium. The stadium has so far hosted a fair amount of Indian Premier League matches over the years. It also briefly served as the home of the record IPL champions Mumbai Indians. It also served as the home stadium of the now defunct Pune Warriors and Deccan Chargers.

Besides hosting IPL franchises, the DY Patil Stadium has also matches for the Indian Super League (ISL) team, Mumbai City FC. The stadium served as the home stadium for Mumbai City FC back in 2014.

As such, the pitch will favour batting with some slight assistance for slower bowlers. With the stadium far away from the coastal area, there is only a little chance of dew. The Indian summer is slowly coming to start, which means that the days will get extremely hot and humid. Temperatures generally rise up to 35°C, but it will reduce to around 22°C during nighttime.
