The superstar of Paris Saint-Germain earns a spot on the list thanks to his spectacular strike against Argentina in France’s heartbreaking World Cup final loss.

The women’s game features Amandine Henry, Salma Paralluelo, and Alessia Russo in addition to Balotelli and Dimitri Payet, all of whom hope to win the top prize.

Balotelli Mario

Plays for Adana Demirspor in Turkey after previously representing Manchester City and Liverpool. In a 7-0 triumph over Goztepe the previous season, he scored five times, the fifth of which was a spectacular rabona after a sequence of scintillating stepovers. Balotelli, who is now 32 years old, had 18 goals in last season’s Turkish Super League.

Amandine Henry

The French midfielder who helped Lyon win the Champions League last season with a spectacular goal. Henry, at the age of 33, made a bruising tackle that helped his team regain possession of the ball in a crucial spot on the field.

Next, she fired a long-range, unstoppable effort that found the top corner, helping her team beat Barcelona 3-1 and claim the trophy.

Theo Hernandez

He scored a spectacular lone goal for AC Milan last season against Atalanta. The Frenchman took possession of the ball well inside his own territory and went on an incredible dash. It was a fantastic finish after he slid past many defenders to reach the Atalanta penalty area.

Alou Kuol

The Australian U-23 forward scored a spectacular scorpion kick while playing for Australia. It looked like Kuol would be beaten to the right post when the cross came in from the right.

But the Stuttgart striker contorted his body in a spectacular way to redirect the ball toward the goal. His brother Garang, also a talented footballer, joined Newcastle in January.

Kylian Mbappe

Among the FIFA Puskas Award nominees, Kylian Mbappe’s spectacular equaliser against Argentina in the World Cup final received the most attention.

Mbappe had just scored a penalty to get his team within a goal, and then he played a lovely one-two with Marcus Thuram before firing a shot past Emi Martinez.

France’s star player scored a second equaliser in overtime from the penalty spot, but his team ultimately lost in a shootout.

Francio Gonzalez Metilli

The Argentine superstar scored with what is perhaps the finest volley on this list. Gonzalez Metilli, who was playing for Central Cordoba against Rosario Central, kept a close eye on the ball as it was floated in his direction.

The 25-year-old let go with a sensational left-footed strike that flew over the diving goalkeeper and into the upper corner. This is the core reason for his nomination in FIFA Puskas Award.

Marcin Oleksy

Marcin Oleksy, a Polish amputee, amazed audiences everywhere with his incredible gravity-defying bicycle kick.

The acrobatic finish Oleksy achieved by swivelling his crutches had his teammates going wild. The Polish guy’s credentials are top-notch because he competed for Poland in the Amputee World Cup.

Salma Parallueo

When the Spanish adolescent scored a spectacular goal against Barcelona last season, she became a household name around the world.

The winger cut in from the side and curled a fantastic shot into the top corner. Just a few months later, Barca signed Paralluelo, so it’s evident they took notice.

Dimitri Payet

During his time with Marseille, the ex-West Ham player wowed fans in the Europa League. It was in the quarterfinals against PAOK when the Frenchman on his team was played a chipped corner at the edge of the box.

Payet received the ball on the half volley and promptly smashed the cleanest of shots into the top corner, leaving his teammates with their hands on their heads in shock.

With his incredible bicycle kick for Brazil against Serbia, the Tottenham player won the award for World Cup Goal of the Tournament.

The striker gathered up Vinicius Jr.’s cross, then swivelled in one fluid move to unleash a sensational volley that sailed into the top corner. Both of his team’s goals came from his boot, and the 2-0 victory was his doing.

Alessia Russo

Alessia Russo’s amazing performance for the Lionesses all but guaranteed their spot in the Euro 2022 final. Russo, who had been a tournament-long super sub, performed admirably in that role once again in the semi-final match against Sweden.

The Manchester United attacker improvised brilliantly by back-heeling past the hapless goalkeeper after collecting the rebound from her own shot.
