The Club World Cup will cease to exist in its current configuration in 2023. Currently, it is an annual seven-team competition. Following that, it will expand to a competition with 32 teams, which will debut in the US in 2025.

FIFA Club World Cup champions are determined by a competition involving seven teams. The top competition winners in each of the six inhabited continents, along with the national champions of the host nation, compete in a straight-knock-out format.
In order to join the winners of Asia, Africa, and North America in the quarterfinals, the host nation’s champions must defeat the representatives of Oceania. While the winners from Europe and South America advance to the competition’s semifinals.

The competition will take place in 2023 from December 12–22. On December 22, there will be a play-off for third place. King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium will host games.
