Jordan Henderson, the captain of Liverpool, was exonerated earlier this week of any misconduct against Gabriel, an Arsenal defender after their incident video went viral on Reddit
Gabriel said that Henderson used disrespectful language against him during the match on October 9 at the Emirates, and Michael Oliver escalated the situation by notifying managers Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp. The FA moved promptly to announce that a thorough inquiry would be carried out.

After they concluded there was no case for Henderson to answer, the investigation is now over. The FA stated in a statement that FA can certify that it won’t be taking any disciplinary action following an inquiry into an allegation it received about the Premier League game between Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC on Sunday, October 9, 2022. The FA had a complaint about something that happened during this game involving two players. The complaint led to the FA opening a thorough investigation.
None of the witnesses heard the alleged comment, and the player accused vehemently denied the allegation throughout the investigation, which also included gathering testimony from the complainant and accused as well as six additional players who were in the vicinity of the alleged incident, reviewing multiple angles of video footage, and requesting independent linguistics experts’ testimony. The FA fully accepts that the complaint was made in good faith, but it also fully accepts that there is no case to answer.
Everyone who believes they have experienced abuse or witnessed it is encouraged to report it through the proper channels as the FA continues to take all complaints received very seriously. In any given season, the FA receives several complaints and meticulously investigates each one. Following a comprehensive review of all the relevant evidence, not every incident will result in the filing of a charge.
To Gabriel, what did Henderson say?
Martin Samuel of the Daily Mail reports that Henderson reportedly admitted to calling Gabriel a “f**king fool” to the probe. The Arsenal centre-back, though, believed he had heard something entirely different in Portuguese. According to Samuel, the FA had no choice but to drop any case against Jordan Henderson for what transpired between him and Arsenal defender Gabriel.
Henderson is thought to have admitted to calling Gabriel a “f****** moron” to the investigators. Gabriel thought he used a different, significantly worse word in Portuguese. None of the other players from Arsenal or Liverpool who were questioned could confirm. No one claimed Gabriel was dishonest; only that he was incorrect.
The probability balance is now available. Henderson lacks the Portuguese-Brazilian dialect proficiency necessary to employ a word like that. Therefore, we would have to assume that he either learned how to offend from one of his Brazilian or Portuguese squad members, of which half are of ethnic heritage, despite being the admired captain of a multicultural Liverpool dressing room. In light of the probabilities, the allegation is dropped.
