F1 Turkish Grand Prix Cancelled: As the 2021 F1 season is one like never been witnessed before by any fanatic, get to know all about the Turkish GP being the latest Grand Prix to be cancelled.
There have been a handful of changes in the F1 2021 Schedule so far. The original schedule has been significantly hampered by the travel restrictions being implemented. The latest to burn from this fire is the Turkish GP, as a result to which Austria gets a chance to stage two races for the second season running.
Formula 1 CEO, Stefano Domenicali revealed that the organization was looking forward for the race in Turkey, but the travel restrictions did not allow the race to be staged. This has led to the French Grand Prix to be moved on June 20, whereas races in Austria will take place on June 27 and July 4, 2021.
F1 Turkish Grand Prix Cancelled: Turkish GP to be held later this year?
The Turkish Grand Prix was replacing the Canadian Grand Prix in the 2021 F1 Calendar and was scheduled for 11-13 June. However, according to Philip Horton, it has been reported that Turkey is asking for a postponement in their participation to the later month in the year, if possible, assuming that the COVID-19 situation in the country will improve by then.
But talking about the current scenario of the Covid-19 travel restriction, Turkey is out for the month of June. But if some other venue withdraws their participation, owing to third-wave somewhere, then the F1 schedule might see Turkey making a comeback for the second time this year.
