However, many fans seem to be struggling about the flag color and meaning which they convey, so, here are all the details that one needs to know about.

Here we are going to discuss what exactly every F1 flag color means but before that let us tell you, there are a total of 10 main flags in F1 with drivers liable to face punishment if they don’t heed the requirements of each when they are being in use.
Yellow flag: means a driver should reduce their speed as well as avoid overtaking and get ready themselves to change direction because there is a hazard near the track.
Two yellow flags is an order to reduce speed significantly as well as avoid overtaking. Apart from these, it also means that a driver should prepare to change direction or stop because of a hazard blocking the track and marshals either in the surface or nearby.
Red flag: a red flag means a session is suspend and driver need to slowly return to his pits. It also means that the session will potentially resume with the cars in the order in which they were stopped.
It can also use if there is a blocked track or dangerous weather that could cause imminent danger to competitors.
Green flag: a green is usually used for signaling that a previous hazard has been dealt with and now normal racing can continue.
Blue flag: blue colored flags are shown to tell the drivers to let the car behind them pass. A stationary blue flag means that there is another car coming down the track and a driver should leaves the pit lane.
A driver can be fined for ignoring blue flags repeatedly.
Yellow and red flag: this kind of flag means a change in track surface, including as water or oil reducing the grip of the section. It is also held stationary.
Black and white flag: this kind of flag is split between the two colors by a diagonal line. It is also stationary and it includes the number of a driver who’s being warned over unsportsmanlike behavior.
Black and orange flag: means a car has a mechanical problem and is deemed dangerous and must therefore return to the pits as quick as possible.
Apart from above mentioned flag, F1 also shows us Black flag, white flag and Chequered flag. The new points system which was introduced in 2022 for races halted during the Grand Prix due to an incident.
