Come Sunday and we were in for another crash as Sergio Perez saw his Red Bull be decimated in warm-up. While he was able to get his car repaired just in time for the race, the race itself ended up being massively postponed owing to the rain lashing the track.

In the aftermath of the race, a raft of drivers and teams have lashed out at FIA for the horrid handling of the Belgian Grand Prix. Many had hit out at F1 for its inability to completely call off the race owing to the torrid weather conditions.
The bagpiper of these protests was Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton who saw his lead at the top cut down to a meagre 3 points from 8. In a post on Instagram, the Mercedes man went onto call the race as a farce with him seething over how the fans were devoid of a proper race.

As the calls for the spectators to get refunded for their tickets grew, F1’s CEO, Stefano Domenicali weighed in on the matter with him asserting that there was no provision to give the fans their money back.
He explained: “You can pay the ticket and then [it is] what it is.
“At the end of the day the organiser, together with us, will consider the attention, the maximum attention to the fans, that’s for sure.
“The race is there. Formally, it is a race. It is a matter of understanding what is the sign of attention the organiser would like to do with the fans.”
