According to reports, the F1 calendar year revenue increased from $1.7 billion to more than $2 billion in 2019. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are two of the highest-paid F1 drivers.

Top ten highest-paid F1 drivers – 2022

#1. Lewis Hamilton – Mercedes – $40 million

Lewis Hamilton is one of F1’s most successful drivers. In addition, he is the highest-paid driver in Formula One, with Mercedes paying him $40 million in 2022.

#2. Max Verstappen – Red Bull – $35 million

Max Verstappen won the 2022 Formula One World Championship. He recently signed one of the most expensive F1 contracts in history and will remain with Red Bull until 2028. In 2022, he was reportedly paid $35 million.

#3. Fernando Alonso – Alpine – $20 million

Fernando Alonso will race for Aston Martin in the 2023 season. Alpine paid him $20 million for the 2022 season.

#4. Sebastian Vettel – Aston Martin – $15 million

Vettel’s last season in Formula One was in 2022. With a yearly pay of $15 million, he was the joint fourth highest-paid F1 driver in 2022.

#5. Daniel Ricciardo – McLaren – $15 million

Daniel Ricciardo’s contract with McLaren has expired, and he will not be racing in 2023. With an annual salary of $15 million in 2022, he is the joint-fourth highest earner on the list.

#6. Lando Norris – McLaren – $15 million

Lando Norris has signed a new long-term contract with McLaren.

#7. Charles Leclerc –  Ferrai – $12 million

Ferrari recently signed Charles Leclerc to a new five-year contract.

#8. Carlos Sainz – Ferrari – $10 million

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will continue to race with Ferrari until the end of 2024.

#9. Valtteri Bottas – Alfa Romeo – $10 million

Valtteri Bottas is Alfa Romeo’s lead F1 driver. Alfa Romeo will pay Bottas $10 million.

#10. Sergio Perez – Red Bull – $10 million

Sergio Perez extended his contract with Red Bull after winning the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix.
