Find out the drivers and their F1 2023 penalty points table list after the conclusion of 2023 Japanese Grand Prix
According to their transgressions throughout the course of a race weekend, drivers receive penalty points. These can include creating an accident, dangerously impeding another racer, shoving a driver off the track, or driving carelessly in the pit lane or on the circuit.
F1 2023 penalty points table list and all drivers penalties reason explained
There are various F1 penalty points associated with each of these offences. Recently, Sergio Perez was penalised on Sunday.
After his appalling performance in Suzuka, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez didn’t get a pass from the stewards in Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix, and he also didn’t merit any mercy from them.
In addition to receiving a poor review, Perez will also have four penalty points added to his Super Licence. The referees also disapproved of Perez’s team’s theatrics surrounding a five-second time penalty given to the Mexican.
Perez, starting from fifth, found himself in the middle of the action on the first lap when he and Lewis Hamilton made contact after qualifying over eight tenths slower than Verstappen. Perez slid to 18th after stopping for repairs during the first lap’s Safety Car, but the race officials paid him attention as he entered the pit lane. A driver faces an automatic suspension if they accrue 12 penalty points in a calendar year.
Before the penalty points expire, they will stay on the driver’s quota for another 12 months. Most notably, Pierre Gasly was one of these drivers who came perilously close to accumulating 12 points in a calendar year.
