After experiencing brake cooling issues, McLaren is in a “race against time” to receive the updated brakes parts it needs to complete racing simulations in the last Formula 1 test.
Due to issues with the front brakes, Lando Norris was confined to brief stints at the second test in Bahrain. With the exception of Haas, which skipped the opening practise on Thursday, it has limited McLaren to the lowest mileage total of any team.
What Is The Brake Cooling And Brakes Parts Issue McLaren Is Facing In Its Car Ahead Of F1 2022
McLaren is hoping that revised components will arrive in time to fix the issue and allow the race to go on as planned on Saturday.
What Exactly Is The Problem ?
McLaren admits it is in a ‘race against time’ to get new brake components to Bahrain in time for the final day of Formula One testing.
McLaren has had a more difficult time at Sakhir after dealing with overheated brakes following a good week in the first pre-season test in Barcelona. They have an unanticipated braking issue on the front axle.
Because the crew was unable to discover a solution to the problem at the track, Lando Norris’ runs were limited in duration for the first two days.
Solution Of The Situation
McLaren’s factory has been mobilised to produce updated brake ducts in order to enhance heat management, with the aim that the new components would be available in time to fly over to Bahrain before the last day of competition on Saturday.
They have claimed that they figured out the reality of running on a track vs what’s in a computer, so they ‘re making adjustments.”
Andreas Seidl, The Team’s Principal, Recognised That The Situation Was Difficult.
“After a solid test in Barcelona, the first one-and-a-half days here did not go as planned,” he stated on Friday. “We have an unforeseen braking issue with the front axle, which we must resolve.
Despite the problems, Seidl remained confident that the team would be ready for the opening F1 race of the season next weekend, even if the additional components did not arrive in time for the last test day.
