Explained How To Boost And Increase FPS In Valorant, Best Tips And Tricks List For AMD, Nvidia And Laptop

Are you tired of the low frame and constant frame drops in Valorant? Nothing infuriates me the most other than losing a gunfight because of poor FPS, know how to boost it in Valorant

I still can’t get over losing my diamond game due to FPS stuttering. So, I got to work and have compiled a complete optimization guide for boosting FPS in Valorant.

At the end of the guide, you won’t ever complain about losing a gunfight because of the low frame rate. This guide isn’t targeted at gamers with a specific computer; it is universal and will work across the board. Even for my $1000 prebuilt gaming PC, which isn’t all that powerful, I observed a 50% higher frame rate.

How To Boost And Increase FPS In Valorant, Best Tips And Tricks List

Want to know how you can boost FPS in Valorant? Let’s get started.

How to Boost FPS in Valorant?

For the best results, we will not focus just on the graphics settings. To get the maximum frame rate in Valorant, you must go above and beyond and optimize your GPU’s settings and Windows settings.

Don’t worry; this guide applies to both Nvidia and AMD GPUs. I have broken down the sections into their own separate heading, making them easier to follow. So come, let’s dive into our first set of tweaks.

Optimizing Valorant’s Graphics Settings for Boost in FPS

Firstly, let’s get the easiest part out of the way. By changing certain graphics settings, you can drastically improve your FPS and reduce the chance of getting abnormal frame drops. The following is the guide to the best graphics settings in Valorant.

General Graphics Settings

Display Resolution: 1920 x 1080p

The 1080p resolution is fine for visuals and boosts FPS compared to higher resolutions like 1440p or 4K.

Display Mode: Fullscreen

The fullscreen mode has the least input delay, so by choosing it, you eliminate any lag or stuttering that you might experience otherwise.

Max and Limit FPS options: Off

You don’t want to limit your FPS because it kills the whole purpose of using this guide to optimize and increase FPS in valorant, so turn each of these settings off.

Nvidia Reflex Low Latency: On + Boost

These are the ideal general graphics setting for boosting FPS in Valorant.

Graphics Quality

There always will be a compromise in graphics quality if you are looking for high FPS. However, you don’t want to reduce graphics so low that the game starts looking blurry. Therefore, the following graphics quality guide straddles a fine line between looks and performance.

To get maximum FPS set all the graphics options to low or off. Now, I know you might be thinking, won’t this impact visual clarity. Well, for that, put Anti-Aliasing to MSAA 4x and Anisotropic Filtering to 4x. It should eliminate any blur that will come from using low graphics settings.

Optimizing the GPU Settings for Boost in FPS

After optimizing the Valorant settings, let’s focus on the GPU settings because it is as important, if not more, for increasing FPS. Unfortunately, many gamers ignore the GPU settings and cannot reap the benefits of any optimization.

Nvidia GPUs

Open the Nvidia Control Panel, and let’s work our way through all the important settings that matter.

  • 3D Settings

The first setting under the 3D settings tab is Adjust image settings with preview. Set it to Advance 3D image settings and press the apply button.

Onto the next option, which is Manage 3D Settings. Here you have to change the following settings.

  • Anisotropic Filtering: off
  • FXAA: off
  • Gamma correction Anti Aliasing: off
  • Mode Antialiasing: off
  • Background Max framerate: off
  • Max Rate: off
  • Quality – Texture Filtering: High performance
  • Threaded Optimization: Auto

Leave all the remaining settings to their default values, and don’t mess around with them too much.

AMD GPUs

Configuring settings for AMD GPUs is just as easy as Nvidia GPUs, and here’s how to do it in the AMD Radeon software.

  • After the AMD Radeon Software is opened, click on the gaming tab.
  • Select the global graphics option.
  • From the given presets, choose the Esports option. All the best settings for increasing performance and FPS in Valorant will be automatically applied.

The presets option makes setting AMD GPUs a breeze. Now that we have covered both GPUs let’s head to our final optimization.

Optimizing the Windows Settings for Boost in FPS

Windows is known for holding back the performance of your computer. However, by changing some options, you can unlock the maximum potential of the hardware installed on your computer. Those options are as follows:

Enable the High-Performance Mode for Windows

Windows allows you to enable high-performance mode. By enabling it, your computer will always use the maximum power and deliver peak performance. Using the high-performance mode will increase your computer’s power draw and heat, so keep that in mind.

Enable Game Mode in Windows

The game mode is a built-in feature in Windows. It automatically optimizes your computer for gaming. However, users have reported mixed results in game mode.

There have been reports of game mode having a significant impact on boosting the FPS in Valorant. In contrast, other reports downright deny game mode making any sort of a difference for FPS.

In my use case, game mode was helpful but not by much; therefore, it is up to you whether you want to enable game mode or not. I would advise doing so because there is no harm in having it enabled, right?

Set Valorant Priority to High

Multiple applications are running in tandem on your computer. Unfortunately, the computer isn’t smart enough to know which application should get the most resources. Therefore, you can enhance the frame rate by diverting most of the computer power to Valorant.

You can set the priority of Valorant to high through the Windows task manager, which can be opened by pressing the CTRL + ALT + Del keys.

Conclusion

This wraps up our guide on how to boost FPS in Valorant. However, if you want the best results, do not miss any of the optimizations I have provided you with.

They all work unanimously, so you won’t see much difference by doing just one or two optimizations. However, doing them all can significantly boost your FPS in Valorant and avoid any frame drops.

I hope this guide was straightforward to follow, but if you have any trouble, you can always reach out to me, and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Happy gaming, and may the Elo gods be with you.
