Garuda Aerospace, on Monday, launched a quadcopter consumer camera drone named Droni and themade-in-India camera drone is equipped with video surveillance capabilities. According to the company, it has 30 minutes of endurance and can cover two to three kilometres of visual line of sight (VLOS), has a 20 Megapixel camera, and obstacle-avoidance features and is expected to cost around ₹2 lakh.

At the occasion in Chennai, a brand-new “Kisan Drone” that is designed for the agriculture sector, specifically in spraying applications, was also unveiled. Due to its battery life, this drone can spray agricultural pesticides over 30 acres of land each day.

Speaking at the event, Dhoni recalled how he became genuinely interested in agriculture during the COVID-19 lockout. He emphasised the role that drones have for farmers.

Anand Kumar Das, a former wing commander in the Indian Air Force and the current head of the Indian Drone Association, said that he is overjoyed to be collaborating with Garuda Aerospace to plan the Global Drone Expo and to serve on a forum where industry participants may connect to share knowledge about the drone business. The drone sector will benefit greatly from the expansion and marketing of this platform.

With more than 1,500 attendees from 14 international drone companies and representatives from more than 28 states and union territories, the Global Drone Expo brought together investors, youth, and stakeholders and outlined a future for the drone sector.
