Merrimack College has declared the death of assistant hockey coach Josh Ciocco, who suddenly passed away at the age of 38 years. Fellow hockey players and fans have taken to Twitter to pay their respects and share emotional tributes to Josh Ciocco.

Merrimack College stated Professional hockey coach Josh Ciocco had died at the Merrimack College Athletics stated in a statement on Tuesday 4.20.22. The statement was: “The Merrimack community and men’s hockey program are deeply saddened by the passing of assistant coach Josh Ciocco. The cause or time of death had yet to be announced at the time of writing.
Josh Ciocco’s Family
Josh Ciocco was born in 1983 on 15th November and followed Christianity. Josh was married and his wife’s name is not known.
Josh Ciocco Education And Professional Career
Ciocco played the role of an assistant coach at Merrimack College for past four seasons. He earlier also served as an assistant coach to Alaska-Anchorage. He played for the Spruce Kings as well from 2000 to 2002 before joining his coaching job. Ciocco then played for the Silverbacks during the 2002 to 2003 season before going to the University of New Hampshire to study political science.
He spent around four seasons with the university’s college team from 2003 to year 2007, as a part of Wheeling and Fresno during 2006 to 2007 and 2007 to 2008 seasons. He was 5ft 10in tall and 84 kg in weight.
Josh Ciocco’s Death
The hockey community is mourning the passing of Josh Ciocco and several who knew the hockey player and coach have left touching tributes on social media.
Matt Quinn stated: “I am extremely saddened to learn of the passing of my former teammate Josh Ciocco this morning at the age of 38 years old, gone too soon. I want to pass my condolences along to Josh’s family and friends. He will be missed.”
Mike McMahon wrote in another tribute: “My thoughts are with Josh’s family, as well as his hockey family within the Merrimack and UNH programs where he was an alum.”
